What is webhosting?

In general it means the placement of your website on the server of the providing company. Depending on the company’s offer you may use different script languages (e.g. PHP, PHP5, PERL etc.), databases (mySQL, postreSQL etc.), settings and services.

Who is webhosting for?

Webhosting and webhosting services can be used by anyone. The range of website categories reach from simple blog websites of single users, through various family websites, e-shops to complicated websites of big international companies. Everyone is welcome in the World Wide Web.

How do I find a good and reliable webhosting provider?

The quality and reliability of webhosting services is different in each company as well as the prices. It is recommended to ask your family members, friends and colleagues if they have any experience with a webhosting provider. With no references is it difficult to evaluate the provider prior to the order. You may find out a lot from the company’s references. It never harms to verify them though. If a company does not have any references it does not automatically mean that the company is not good. It may just be new on the market. In case there is nobody in your area with experience in webhosting, do a little research and compare a few providers. Remember that the big companies with thousands if clients have good marketing, but there are always smaller companies with better offers.

Do you charge a start-up fee?

No, we do not charge any start-up fee to any our products. You only pay the price indicated with each product. You do not have to look for small print for additional information or for any hidden fees. Any change in price is clearly given on our website, and by email we inform every client of any changes we propose to make to the price.

I would like to order webhosting, how/where do I start?

It is very easy. Look at the product description and choose the best product for you. Go to the order page and fill out the order form. Please enter correct information only – if we find out that any information is false, we are allowed to terminate all your services. After you send us the completed form we will take care of everything else. You will receive an email with login and payment information after your account has been created.

After the first login to your account we advise you to change your password. Now you can upload your website to our server and eventually change the DNS settings of your domain.

If any problem or uncertainty occurs please do not hesitate to contact us and we will solve it as soon as possible to everyone’s satisfaction.

How big is the email account?

The email has 500MB. It is possible to create new accounts or to increase the size of the present account if you wish. The maximum size of attachment is approximately 21Mb. Please remember that many free mail accounts are not able to receive such big attachments. Before sending such a big attachment, please make sure the recipient can receive it.

Is your webhosting secure?

We carry out updates, security checks and tests of our software regularly. This should guarantee the highest security standards. In particular we pay attention to data encryption, that is why we offer our customers encrypted access to websites, databases and emails.

I already have my website at the server of another provider. May I transfer the website to your servers?

Yes. Choose one of our services and fill out the order form. Proceed as described below:

  • Send us the completed order form
  • Upload your website to our server
  • Change the settings of the domain to our server
  • The website will be prepared at our server
  • Cancel the other webhosting account

If you proceed as described there should be no dropout of your website.

How long does it take for my account to be activated?

Generally we activate new accounts within 24 hours. It might take longer on weekends and holidays. As soon as your account is activated you will receive an email with login information and invoice.

Domain registration

What is the deal with the InfiniteDomains?

The idea of InfiniteHosting is that you should get everything you need for your internet presentation, including the needed domains, for a fixed price. Needed domains means domains which lead directly to the website. Please read the Fair User Policy (FUP) for more information.

May I register a domain without ordering webhosting?

No, we only register domain for those who order webhosting, or for our present customers.

How do I register new domains?

You may register new domains either through the order form when ordering new webhosting services, or through the WebAdmin. Check if the domain name is available and then proceed with the registration. We will take care for everything else.

Which domains may I register?

With InfiniteDomain the following TLDs (Top Level Domains) may be registered: .biz; .co.uk; .com; .cz; .de; .eu; .hu; .info; .name; .net; .org; .sk; .us. However if you wish to order a special domain you may contact us through the WebAdmin. Otherwise we also register: .at, .be, .ch, .cn, .es, .fr, .gr, .hk, .in, .it, .jp., .li, .lt, .lu, .lv, .mobi, .nl, .nu, .pl, .ro, .ru, .se, .sg, .tv, .tw, .vn.

Technical questions

Where are your servers located?

Our servers are located in Slovakia. The reason for choosing Slovakia are the low prices, high standards and good connections to the world wide web. Therefore we can offer you such service as InfiniteHosting for a fair price. The location of the servers does not affect the quality and speed of the connection to your website.

What connection do your servers use?

Each of our servers is connected to the Slovak main line with 100mbps. This speed is sufficient for fast and smooth access to the website. We plan to switch to a 1gbps connections soon.

Which software do you use at your servers?

Our servers use GNU/GPL software. This software fulfills the strictest criteria in the field of security, overloading and functionality. The software is specially adjusted for our servers.

How is it with dropouts of your servers?

Rarely do we have any dropouts with our servers. In the history of our company we have not had a single long dropout. The servers are secured by UPS and are under constant supervision of administrators. All data are regularly backed-up.

The access to the website may be limited during software updates. Although the updates are planned in advance sometimes it is necessary to carry out an update immediately due to an actual threat. We apologize ahead for any possible dropout. Please remember that it happens to prevent longer dropouts caused by viruses and other malware.

Do you backup the websites?

Yes, we back-up all websites regularly in case of failure of one of our servers. Basically we back-up all data except for audio, video and other large files. Even though we advise you to back-up the current state of your website including all files placed at the website.

What are the addresses of FTP, DB, email, WebMail?

How do I set up SMTP?

If there is the possibility, then use the SMTP as your internet provider.

This is how to set up the email client:

  • SMTP authorization
  • Login name and password are the same as at pop3, WebMail etc.
  • Set up TLS encryption
  • Try to send an email

Where do I set up all my data?

We have established an administrative tool (WebAdmin) for this purpose. You can try out the tool here (login: guest; password: guest). With this tool you may change any information, settings and other data of your account – such as: creating new email accounts, subdomains and databases; changing of passwords; and much more. The preview does not contain all options.

How do I set up subdomains?

Login to your FTP account. Create a new subdirectory in the SUB directory. The new subdirectory will automatically become the new subdomain e.g. SUB/test = test.yourdomain.xy.

Payment and termination questions

How may I pay for webhosting?

For InfiniteHosting you may pay either monthly or yearly – if you choose yearly payment you will get two months free of charge. For FlexyHosting it is only possible to pay monthly, to keep its main feature – flexibility. We accept payments by bank transfer, PayPal, Moneybookers and credit cards.

For automatic bank transfer please fill out the appropriate form. The payment will follow automatically due to your orders. At this time this payment option is only available in Germany and Czech Republic.

If you want to keep your finances fully under control or if you do not live in Germany, you may choose other – manual – payment options. In this case you must settle the payment within 15 days on receipt of the invoice. During the 15 days period you may withdraw from contract in writing without any penalties. Please read more information below on this topic.

Click at the PayPal sign in the email for direct forwarding to the PayPal site. The amount and invoice number will be preset. Enter your account information and proceed with the payment.

With Moneybookers it is similar to PayPal. Just click at the Moneybookers sign and proceed with the payment.

For credit card payment, please click at the appropriate link in the email. This link will lead you to the secured credit card payment form at our website. Again – the invoice amount and invoice number will be already filled in.

When using manual payment methods, you will always receive an email with the invoice and payment methods for the past month. Again you will have 15 days to settle the payment.

What happens if I forget to settle the payment on time?

You do not have to worry about the on time payments when using automatic bank transfer.

When using manual payment methods we usually proceed this way: when payment is not settled within the 15 days period, we will send you a reminder email. We also will have to limit some of your services, such as the creating of new emails and FTP accounts, subdomains and databases. When the payment does not arrive within 14 days after sending the reminder email we will have to terminate all your services. This means that your website will be no longer visible to the visitors.

If you decide to no longer use our services, please let us know in advance. If you just stop paying the service, we will demand the entire amount for the next period.

What is the minimal period for your services?

The minimal payment period is one month. With InfiniteHosting you may choose either to pay monthly or yearly. Due to the nature of the FlexyHosting – flexibility – it is only possible to pay monthly for the FlexyHosting.

How and when may I terminate the services?

You may terminate the service any time if you choose to do so. The service will be terminated at the end of the current period – month or year, due to your choice. You must terminate the period in writing, either by email sent to terminate@firstinfinite.com, or through the contact form in WebAdmin.

If you use the InfiniteHosting with InfiniteDomains and pay monthly, you may only terminate your account after every 11 months from the date of the domain registration, or transfer. Otherwise we will charge you the remaining price of the domains.

InfiniteHosting

„InfiniteHosting“- isn’t it suspicious?

Our clients are not supposed to worry about any limits and restrictions any more. We are not really interested in the pure mathematical definition of “infinite”, but we offer you an all-inclusive webhosting service for a fair flat price. Infinite also means that nothing is impossible and we are able to provide you almost any product you desire.

A large amount of data is no problem for us either; we already host websites which need several gigabytes of storage. It is our company’s philosophy not for our customers not to feel limited or restricted.

What are the prices of InfiniteHosting?

You can make use of all the features of our unique InfiniteHosting for just €21 per month or €210 per year. This means that if you decide on yearly payment you’ll get 2 months for free. Of course we do not charge any start-up fee and there are no extra hidden costs.

What do I get for the flat price?

You get infinite space for your presentation; infinite number of email accounts, 250 MB each; infinite number of databases and much more. You will find the full specification of InfiniteHosting here.

How do I order InfiniteHosting?

Write your name, address, email, telephone number and eventually the business contact information on the order form. After you send us the order form, you will receive an authorization email with invoice and payment options. When you authorize the order by clicking on the link in the email,and we will create the account for you.

FlexyHosting

What are the prices of FlexyHosting?

The price begins at €2,5 per month for the basic configuration. When you choose the best configuration for you in the FlexyHosting script the price will be shown straightaway.

What do I get in the basic configuration?

Our offer starts at 50MB space and one email account. You may buy more space, email accounts and databases. There is no limit.

How do I order FlexyHosting?

After you choose the ideal configuration for you in the FlexyHosting script, click on the “Next” button. Give your contact information in the order form (name, address, email, telephone number and eventually the business contact information). When you send the order form, we will create your account and send you an activation email with access information and invoice.

How often may I change the FlexyHosting configuration?

When you, after the order or later, find out that the chosen configuration is not enough, or that you do not need so much space etc., you may change the configuration any time. However you will always pay for the highest configuration used during that particular month.

FreeHosting

Who is FreeHosting for?

We offer the FreeHosting to unprofitable organizations and projects, artists, cultural events, theaters, schools and other educational institutions, and other organizations and projects.

How do I order FreeHosting?

It is not as easy with FreeHosting as with Infinite or FlexyHosting – you may not order it directly through an order form. We consider the FreeHosting as a form of sponsorship and sometimes even as partnership, we only give it to organizations and projects which fulfill our criteria. This does not mean that anyone fulfilling the above stated criteria will automatically get our FreeHosting.

This may sound daunting, although it is very easy – fill out the contact form, mark the FreeHosting option and send it; or send us an email to sponsor@firstinfinite.eu with the following information: description of your project; your future plans; name of the contact person and contact email; your references; a few reasons why you think, that your project should become FreeHosting; your present URL, information about the size of your website and information about the visitor numbers – of course if you already have a website. We will contact you as soon as possible.

ATTENTION – contact us only by email or through the contact form. Any other methods of contact will not be taken account of.

What do I get in FreeHosting?

The parameters of the service are very similar to InfiniteHosting. The only real difference is absence of InfiniteDomains in FreeHosting.

Do I have to place foreign commercial banner to the website when using FreeHosting?

The only banner you must place at your website is our banner. The banner is quiet small (one line at the top of the website) and you may choose from various colours.

Are there special rules for the content of the website?

The content of the website is your choice. It must be in accordance with the information you gave us in the application. You may not change the factual content of the website. Our banner must also be placed on your website.

Do I also get any free domains?

In general we do not offer free domains to FreeHosting. However we will be glad to support selected projects in other ways apart from webhosting, and paying for domains.

WebAdmin

What is WebAdmin?

It is the administration interface, which enables you to administer and control your account, websites, emails and all the other functions. You may create new email accounts, FTP accounts, subdomains, change passwords and more. You may try out the WebAdmin here (Login: guest; password: guest)

How do I log into the WebAdmin?

After your webhosting order has been processed, you will receive an email with the login information and invoice. We recommend you to change your password the first time you log into the WebAdmin. Your WebAdmin is located at admin.yourdomain.xy.

What languages does your WebAdmin support?

The WebAdmin is now available in English, German and Czech.

Our Fair User Policy (FUP)

Why do you apply FUP?

Many of our products, or their parts, are offered as without restriction. So to prevent any misuse of this service we must apply FUP. When using the products for individual needs you should not even know there is anything like a FUP.

How does FUP limit me?

As stated above, you should not even know about the FUP if you do not misuse the services. In case any terms of FUP should affect you, we will notify you first by email.

What are the FUP limits?

We do not have any set limits for FUP. We result them on average data of websites of similar types and the extend this average is exceeded. In general we only take any action according to FUP if the provision of services to others is threatened or limited due to exceeding the limits by any user.

Is there a possibility of canceling the FUP for my account?

We are ready to discuss any special requests of this kind including agreeing to special conditions on any website/account. Simply use the contact form with your request.
